Yes, there are that many different ways of tackling a project and we are here to break them down to you.

1. Self-Managed

The self managed project is definitely popular and for some who have the time can be an exciting and rewarding experience. The person who has chosen to project manage their own project will have a lot to do.

ā€¸Planning the processes, ordering materials at good prices and organising quality trustworthy subcontractors at the right time in the project are all part and parcel of this route.

To add to this, a lot of on the job training will take place for that person. This can sometime lead to a longer project time or a higher project cost. This can suit many but it is definitely not for everyone.

The support takes out all the unknowns and helps set out realistic timelines

2. Self-Managed with Expert Support

Take into account everything mentioned above but add in expert support on a consultancy basis. The support takes out all the unknowns and helps set out realistic timelines, allows for deeper understanding of process and even potentially recommendation of supply chains and what to look for in your subcontractors.

The control is still very much in your hands but with support to ensure that you can get your project done in good time and within budget, avoiding any unnecessary disasters.

It is accessible and a much more affordable option than a fully project managed service.

3. Fully Project-Managed Service

This is when all the responsibility is handed over to the contractor. From start to finish they offer you a turnkey service which means that you do not have to worry about anything apart from the obvious decisions of what taps your require or that dream kitchen you have seen on Instagram.

It can make for a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience and takes the unknown out of the whole process.

The key to this option works only when you have a quality contractor on board that ensure there is an open line in the communication between themselves and the clients. The cost attached will also be more, but it is worth comparing the pros and cons to all options to be able to see the added value.

So there we have it. Three routes. Something for everybody!
