Where do I begin when renovating my house.

Renovating your home is a huge decision, not matter the size of the project, it’s going to affect members of the household one way or another, so it’s good to do a bit of research before jumping in head first.

There are really two routes you can go down, one involves getting in contact with an architect to have plans drawn up before speaking with contractors and the second, which is what we’ll be looking at in more detail today, is considering working with a company that offers a package which allows you to hand the project to them and they’ll do most of the heavy lifting for you. It means you’re more dealing with one single party for the majority of the time and they’ll handle the project as a whole, rather than coordinating your time between multiple parties.
To make this a little easier, lets take a look at the first two steps you need to take when thinking about renovating your house.
Step 1:
What type of work are you looking to have done? Is it a full ground up renovation? Are you just looking to have your kitchen redone? The size and scope of the project is a vital piece of information that any contractor is going to know from you. It’s also going to help you figure out which contractors to contact.
Step 2:
Now that you know how much of your home you want to be renovated, it would be worth putting some thought into how you want the final outcome to look. We wouldn’t expect you to have every decision nailed down but a general idea of what you want would be beneficially to you and the design team! Mood boards are perfect for this kind of thing! If you see anything on Instagram, Pinterest or whilst flipping through magazines, keep a copy for future reference when you need a bit of inspiration.
Now that you’ve got a basic feeling of what you’re after, you can start looking at contractors, specifically ones who offer the package we mentioned earlier. Design Process With Architect

Working with our in-house design team, we’ll be putting you in touch with the architect so you can iron out any details you feel are must haves! We’ll get your plans drawn up ready for the next stage.

Submission Of Plans

Ah, the ever appreciated plan submission phase… this is probably one of the most arduous tasks, waiting for the local authority to approve our plans! Luckily, we’ll be taking care of this for you though!

Plan Approval

Getting the thumbs up from the local authority is quite the milestone in the project! This will kick start the next phase.

Final Project Costings

With approval comes costings. Now that we have our definitive answer from the local authority, we’re able to put more stable numbers against your estimate.

Finalising Of Fixtures And Fittings

This is where you can get a bit more creative and start to build upon your final dream home! You can start looking at the finer details ready for our operations team to start sourcing items ready for fitting.

Start Of Project

Another milestone and so soon! We’ll get cracking preparing the site for our team to swoop in and get to work.

Construction Phase

A super exciting time for both you as our client and us as we getting to get our teeth into a new project! Our Site teams lover the feeling of beginning a fresh project!

Completion And Handover

The day we’ve all been waiting for! The last step in the process is completion and finally getting to hand your home back to you.
